With a playoff win on the line, Lovington rose to the challenge  on Saturday. They blew past the Moriarty Pintos 16-1. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

 Daphne Utajara spent all four innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than seven  strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Zabri Rodriguez and  Jocelynn Holguin did most of the damage at the plate:  Rodriguez  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs, while  Holguin  went 1-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple.  Sabrie Sanchez was another key player,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with two  runs and one  RBI.
 Lovington  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  strikeout total in three consecutive  matches.
Lovington's record now sits at 19-8. As for Moriarty,  with the  loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-7.
 Lovington has already played their next game,  a  3-1  win against Los Alamos on the 10th. Moriarty does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
