York strolled past Northwest with points to spare, taking the game 50-31. Winning may never get old, but York sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
York's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lainey Portwine, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Portwine is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kiersten Portwine, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
York now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Northwest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.
York will be playing in front of their home fans against Elkhorn North on Friday. As for Northwest, they will head out on the road to face off against Hastings at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
