Karsen McCoy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI.
In other batting news, Connor Davis was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Keldon Kemp also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Columbia, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Sweeny by a score of 6-2 on Friday.
Like Sinton, Columbia also got a great game from a two-way player: Koen Davis. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Davis was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Davis is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Langen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Cade Thoe, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Columbia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sweeny only posted an OBP of .240.
Sinton's record is now 19-6-1. As for Columbia, their record now sits at 17-9.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Sinton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .469. However, it's not like Columbia struggles in that department as they've averaged .478. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Sinton's way against Columbia in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Sinton made off with an 11-4 win. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Roughnecks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
