The Wilson Central Wildcats will challenge the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wilson Central will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Wilson Central can't be too worried about heading out to take on Stewarts Creek: they just beat Smyrna at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Bulldogs on Monday. Considering the Wildcats have won 15 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Wilson Central got a great performance from Jordan Hawkins as she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits.

At the plate, Kiley Davis was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Ava Perry was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Stewarts Creek posted their closest win since April 5th last Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Smyrna 2-0. The Red Hawks haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Stewarts Creek's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jaelyn Stembridge, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Stewarts Creek's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-6-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Wilson Central, their record is now 24-10.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wilson Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. However, it's not like Stewarts Creek struggles in that department as they've averaged .383. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wilson Central might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Stewarts Creek in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
