Baseball Recap: St. Luke's Episcopal Continues Home Dominance on Monday

There's no place like home for St. Luke's Episcopal, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over the Murphy Panthers on Monday. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by ten runs or more this season.

St. Luke's Episcopal got a massive performance out of Turner Tillman, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance also gave Tillman a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Jeremy Menhennett, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

St. Luke's Episcopal was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

St. Luke's Episcopal pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Murphy, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Coming up, St. Luke's Episcopal will face off against Cottage Hill Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Murphy, they will challenge Bryant at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Murphy has given up an average of 15 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
