Hunter is a perfect 10-0 against Granger since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wolverines will be playing at home against the Lancers at 3:30 p.m. Hunter is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
On Thursday, Hunter came up short against Taylorsville and fell 11-8.
LOIANA IONGI stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of SYDNI MILLER, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Granger). They skirted past Corner Canyon 28-26. The win continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won three in a row.
Granger got a massive performance out of Haylie Harper, who went 5-for-7 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those five hits gave Harper a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trinity Avila, who went 5-for-7 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple.
Granger kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 36 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 14.2.
Granger's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Hunter, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Hunter got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Granger by a conclusive 18-4 score. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
