On Friday, Payson strolled past Green Canyon with points to spare, taking the game 51-34.
Payson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Oaklie Jackman out in front who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Jackman hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cheznie Roundy, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Payson's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Green Canyon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Payson will play host again and welcome Orem, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Orem is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Green Canyon, they will be playing at home against Ridgeline at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ridgeline will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
