Hebbronville is 1-8 against London since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Hebbronville Longhorns will take on the London Pirates at 1:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Hebbronville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let IDEA Edinburg College Prep get on the board and left with a 23-0 win on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Longhorns with their most commanding win of the season.

Alvar Flores made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).
In other batting news, Federico Serna was a standout: he fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Derek Ramirez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Hebbronville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .882. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for London, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on Orange Grove with a sharp 11-1 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Noah Cervantes looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Aiden Salinas and Christian Olivares did most of the damage at the plate: Salinas scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4, while Olivares went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Zachary Tyrone, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
London is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. Hebbronville's record now sits at 10-7-1.
Hebbronville might still be hurting after the 13-2 defeat they got from London when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Hebbronville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
