That's another feather in the cap for Boone Central/Newman Grove, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the defeat, Adams Central saw an underclassman step up: Hunter Nepple scored 19 points. The matchup was Nepple's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Austin Vontz, who scored 11 points.
Boone Central/Newman Grove's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Adams Central, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3.
Boone Central/Newman Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Adams Central and Hastings will face off on January 4, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hastings will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Adams Central is ranked 31st).
