The Wayne Blue Devils scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Wisner-Pilger 69-33 at home. That looming 69-33 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Wayne yet this season.
It was another big night for Colson Nelsen, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 4 assists. The match was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caiden Backer, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Wayne pushed their record up to 4-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Wisner-Pilger, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Wayne won't have much time to rest: their next match is against O'Neill on December 16th. Hopefully O'Neill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday. Wisner-Pilger and Stanton will face off on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Stanton is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
