The biggest upset of the week belonged to Santa Clara, who took down 246th ranked Santa Clara, 29-15. Bryan Erickson caught four passes for 90 yards in the win.
Jonathan Walters and Grant Faylor provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Mountain View. The connection was good for 85 yards, the longest such play in De Anza this season.
Delshawn Mitchell was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 156 yards as Wilcox beat Los Gatos. Teammate Roland Luke added to the ground attack by rushing for 84 yards.
Walters put up the best numbers through the air as Saratoga bested the Spartans. He finished with 21 completions for 322 yards and five touchdowns. Walters' favorite target this week was Kyle Dozier, who caught six passes for 119 yards.
Gates-Mouton was the best wideout in the league this week as the Vikings topped the Wildcats. Gates-Mouton tallied four receptions for 122 yards. Malcolm Davis helped Palo Alto's passing attack out by catching one ball for 48 yards.
The Falcons' Walters and Dozier have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading De Anza in both passing and receiving yards. Walters has thrown for 2212 yards this season, while Dozier, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 51 catches for 870 yards. The Chargers' Mitchell leads the league in rushing yards with 999.
Wilcox's Mitchell needs only one yards against the Bruins next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Palo Alto takes on Saratoga. Earl Hansen's team is in third place, while Tim Lugo's team is in first place.
There should be lots of points scored when the Vikings and the Falcons face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Palo Alto comes in having scored 252 this season, while Saratoga has scored 289. The Vikings scored 25 points last week as they beat Los Gatos.
Homestead moved up to 466 from 554 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Mustangs were able to make move up by beating Santa Clara 29-15.
