Pace Academy has gone a perfect 3-0 against Midtown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. Pace Academy will venture away from home to take on Midtown at 5:55 p.m. Pace Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Pace Academy came up short against Northgate on Friday, falling 12-6. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Charlie Dobbie made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Dylan Nelson, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Midtown). Everything went their way against Drew last Wednesday as they made off with a 28-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Knights as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Sam Dempsey made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alec Sevigny, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and four RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Rebillot, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.
Midtown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Pace Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Midtown, their record is now 12-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pace Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Midtown struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Pace Academy beat Midtown 7-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Does Pace Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Midtown turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
