Johnson moved up to 320 from 427 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Genesee Area - Red. The Panthers were able to make the jump by beating Perry 42-6.
Lake Fenton extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Beecher, 47-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Johnson's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tony Saldona threw for 47 yards and Kelsey Sorenson had 27 yards receiving. On the ground Equandre Jackson chipped in 131 yards. Tyler Patterson helped Johnson's passing attack out by catching two balls for 20 yards.
Johnson's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Saldona has thrown for 333 yards and one touchdown this season, while Patterson has 10 catches for 119 yards. Jackson leads the league in rushing with 376 yards.
A big matchup in Genesee Area - Red this week will be when Lake Fenton takes on Goodrich. Eric Doyle's team is in first place, while the Martians are in third place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Blue Devils take on Goodrich. Lake Fenton has allowed 62 points this season, while Tom Alward's team has given up 37.
Ben Almasy's team was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. The Panthers vanquished the Ramblers 42-6 earlier in the week.
