Creighton was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight  loss. They were six  points away from ending the streak, but they lost a  51-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Central Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the  50-41 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in January of 2024.
 North Central found their leader in sophomore  Mya Lewis, who  went 7 of 17  en route to 19 points in addition to seven  boards and seven  steals. Those seven  steals gave  Lewis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Karlene Kepler, who  dropped  a double-double on 12  points and 13  rebounds.
Creighton's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for North Central,  the  victory  got them back to even at 9-9.
 Creighton will have a little extra prep time after the  defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bloomfield at 6:00  p.m.  on February 13th. As for North Central, they will face off against Stuart at 5:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
