The South Choctaw Academy Rebels couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 55-48 to Sparta Academy on Saturday. South Choctaw Academy has struggled against Sparta Academy recently, as their game on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Logan Robinson was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals for Sparta Academy. That makes it six consecutive games in which Robinson has scored at least 25% of Sparta Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Colton Phillips, who scored 11 points.
South Choctaw Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Sparta Academy, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Choctaw Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Escambia Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024. As for Sparta Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Fort Dale Academy at 7:00 p.m.
