If the Bangor Vikings were riding high off their 73-25 takedown of the White Pigeon Chiefs last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Bangor took a serious blow against Cassopolis on Friday, falling 73-31. Bangor was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-18.
Kenny May was his usual excellent self, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and seven assists for Cassopolis. May has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Brown, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Bangor now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Cassopolis, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bangor will take on Hartford at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cassopolis, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against South Bend Clay at 11:30 a.m. on January 27th. Hopefully South Bend Clay focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Thursday.
