Academy Charter suffered their biggest loss since December 20, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 86-56 loss at the hands of Westbury. Academy Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-24.
When it comes to explaining why Academy Charter lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joel Beard. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Beard is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Jovani Dorismond was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Academy Charter dropped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Westbury, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Academy Charter will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Baldwin at 7:00 p.m. Westbury does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
