The Berryhill Chiefs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They strolled past Checotah with points to spare, taking the game 42-28. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Berryhill also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Checotah's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Thomas, who picked up 114 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Kaden Mitchell was another key contributor, rushing for 120 yards while picking up 7.5 yards per carry.
Berryhill now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Checotah, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Stigler the next time they take the field. Berryhill will host Stigler at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th, while Checotah will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
