Basketball Recap: Hills Academy Skates Past Academe of the Oaks with Ease

Hills Academy came tearing into Wednesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 69-12 victory over the Academe of the Oaks Firebirds. That 57 point margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

Hills Academy was led to victory by Adrian Campbell and Matthew Jackson. Campbell posted 24 points, while Jackson had 17 points. The contest was Campbell's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Thrasher, who earned ten points.

Hills Academy pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Academe of the Oaks, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Hills Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Arlington Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. After both having extra time off, Academe of the Oaks and Providence Classical Christian will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
