The Dieterich Movin Maroons suffered their biggest defeat since November 17, 2023 on Saturday. Their rough 62-36 defeat to Brownstown might stick with them for a while. Dieterich was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-14.
Addison Miller and Sammi Goebel certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Miller scored 12 points along with two blocks, while Goebel scored eight points. That's the first time this season that Miller posted two or more blocks.
Brownstown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lexi Seabaugh, who scored 22 points. Presley Williams was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Dieterich has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-10 record this season. As for Brownstown, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dieterich on the road again on Tuesday and play against Sandoval at 6:15 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Brownstown, they will face off against Ramsey at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
