Baseball Recap: Quincy Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Quincy extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping their season record up to 13-14 in the process. They put the hurt on the Alleman Pioneers with a sharp 17-2 win. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Blue Devils this season.

Drake Gibson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Quincy got a massive performance out of Kade Parkhill, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Parkhill a new career-high. Trace Routh was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Quincy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.

As for Alleman, they moved to 22-9 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since April 23rd.

On Alleman's side, Nolan Buchen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Looking ahead, Quincy will take on Camp Point Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Panthers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Alleman, they will face off against Riverdale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.79 runs per game on average), something the Pioneers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
