The Victor Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 69-22 defeat at the hands of Lincoln. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Victor in their matchups with Lincoln: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nicole Bugli, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Krymzen Dempster was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with four steals for Lincoln. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dempster has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Makena Copenhaver, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
Victor's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
Victor will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Victor comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Lincoln, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Drummond at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Drummond's defense has only allowed 27.4 points per game this season, so Lincoln's offense will have their work cut out for them.
