Morgan County received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 67-51 to Harlem. Morgan County's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Harlem's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chavis Johnson led the charge by scoring 16 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Bussey, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Morgan County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Harlem, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
Morgan County will head out on the road to face off against Academy of Richmond County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Academy of Richmond County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Morgan County in Georgia (Academy of Richmond County is ranked 119th, while Morgan County is ranked 254th). As for Harlem, they will be playing at home against Cross Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
