Baseball Recap: Pender Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Pender's offense. They came up short against the Hobbton Wildcats on Monday, falling 12-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost six in a row.

Pender saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Howell, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. Howell is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Pender's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Hobbton, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Pender will host East Bladen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Bladen will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Hobbton, they will head out on the road to take on Lakewood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
