Dillon is 10-0 against Waccamaw since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Dillon Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Waccamaw Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Dillon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Waccamaw likes a good challenge.
Even though Manning scored an imposing 60 points on Tuesday, Dillon still came out on top. Dillon walked away with a 68-60 victory over Manning.
Dillon's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ta'norre Monroe, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds, and Zamaurious Robertson, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazier Walker, who scored four points along with nine rebounds.
Waccamaw posted their biggest win since December 6, 2023 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Aynor with a sharp 49-25 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for Waccamaw as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Waccamaw's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyrese Haynes, who scored seven points along with seven steals and five assists. Nate Kettels was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Dillon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Waccamaw's record now sits at 5-11.
Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Robertson and Haynes. Robertson has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 14.9 points, 1.3 steals, and 3.4 rebounds. For his part, Haynes has averaged 10.3 points and 2.2 steals.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Dillon have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 33.8 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Waccamaw, though, as they've been averaging only 29.9 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
