The Morrill Lions won the last time they faced the Sioux County Warriors, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Morrill blew past Sioux County 58-33. Given Morrill's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Sioux County is ranked 275th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wyler Fisher was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Pittman Ashwin, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Morrill now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Sioux County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
After both having extra time off, Morrill and Hyannis will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another on January 5, 2024. Hyannis will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Sioux County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Banner County at 5:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
