The Westchester Country Day Wildcats lost to the Coastal Christian Centurions back in December of 2017, but the Westchester Country Day Wildcats didn't allow the Coastal Christian Centurions the same satisfaction on Wednesday. Westchester Country Day came out on top against Coastal Christian by a score of 59-47. The victory was all the more spectacular given Westchester Country Day's disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Coastal Christian is ranked 134th).
Despite the loss, Coastal Christian still got an impressive performance from Aidan Davies, who scored 19 points. The matchup was Davies' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of George Robertson, who scored ten points.
Westchester Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Coastal Christian, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-3.
Westchester Country Day won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cape Fear Academy at 2:00 p.m. on December 21st. Hopefully Cape Fear Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Friday. Coastal Christian will take on Our Lady of Mount Carmel in a holiday battle at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at. Our Lady of Mount Carmel will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
