On Friday Central Gwinnett take on Lakeside at 7:30 PM. Both teams have had a rocky road up to this point with three consecutive losses for Central Gwinnett and four for Lakeside.
We expected Central Gwinnett to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked Norcross last Friday, and they did. Central Gwinnett found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 19-52 punch to the gut against Norcross. Central Gwinnett got a solid performance out of senior Justin Fomby, who accumulated 218 passing yards and picked up 33 yards on the ground; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
Meanwhile, Lakeside took a serious blow against Meadowcreek, falling 14-54. Lakeside were down by 14-44 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
