If the Reeltown Rebels were feeling good off their 58-38 takedown of the Horseshoe Bend Generals last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Reeltown fell 48-41 to LaFayette on Tuesday. Reeltown lost against LaFayette in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 69-44 score last time.
It was another big night for Deaundra Vines, who scored 18 points along with six assists and five steals for LaFayette. The contest was Vines' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Branaviyun Story, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds.
Reeltown's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for LaFayette, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Reeltown will head out on the road to face off against Lanett at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for LaFayette, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Horseshoe Bend at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Horseshoe Bend will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 277th, while LaFayette is ranked 132nd).
