Pearl City waltzed into their contest on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Kalaheo Mustangs as they made off with a 13-2 win. Haley Shinjo made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Shinjo was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Pearl City got a massive performance out of Phoenix Sky Lumabao, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Lumabao is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aleia-Lyn Tonaki-Sagucio, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Pearl City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kalaheo only posted an OBP of .240.
