The Lincoln Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warsaw Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Lincoln and ten for Warsaw.
Lincoln's 29-1 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 51-43 loss to Smithton.
Meanwhile, Warsaw lost to Cole Camp at home by a decisive 55-39 margin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Warsaw can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 459th, while Cole Camp is ranked 137th).
Despite their loss, Warsaw saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Logan Gemes, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Noah Siebert, who scored 12 points.
Lincoln has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Warsaw, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-12.
Lincoln and Warsaw were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, but Lincoln came up empty-handed after a 60-59 loss. Will Lincoln have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
