The Porter Pirates couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 50-24 walloping at the hands of Summit Christian Academy on Friday. Porter has struggled against Summit Christian Academy recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Summit Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trinity Garnatz, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Katey Stemple, who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds.
Porter's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Summit Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Porter will take on Gore at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Summit Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chouteau-Mazie at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th.
