The Concordia Lutheran Crusaders's and the Nolan Catholic Vikings's game on Friday was close at halftime, but the Concordia Lutheran Crusaders turned on the heat in the second half with 36 points. Concordia Lutheran was the clear victor by a 57-34 margin over Nolan Catholic. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Concordia Lutheran's two-point performance the matchup before.
Nolan Catholic's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Devero, who threw for 324 yards and three touchdowns. Jake Werline was another key contributor, picking up 177 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The victory makes it two in a row for Concordia Lutheran and bumps their season record up to 8-3. As for Nolan Catholic, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.
Concordia Lutheran will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Lynch at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Nolan Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
