Bergan Catholic extended their winning streak to six on Friday, bumping them up to 8-1. Everything went their way against the Arlington Eagles as they made off with a 34-12 victory. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won seven matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
Trent Mlnarik continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 153 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 153 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Austin Scheuler was another key player, throwing for 201 yards and three touchdowns.
As for Arlington, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4. Having soared to a lofty 38 points in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Owen Ladehoff, who rushed for 37 yards, and also threw for 87 yards and one TD on only eight passes. Ladehoff's passing game has become a key predictor of Arlington's success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. A healthy portion of Ladehoff's aerial production (80 yards to be exact) went to Luke Sharp, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
As of now, neither Bergan Catholic nor Arlington have any future games scheduled.
