Parma is a perfect 3-0 against Marsing since March of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Panthers will take on the Huskies at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Parma's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 22-0 margin over Vision. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on five straight.
Mollie Calkins was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, five RBI, and one run. Lakota Leppert was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Calkins wasn't the only one making solid contact: Parma kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Marsing, as they earned their first away win of the season. Everything went their way against Melba on Friday as they made off with a 12-6 victory. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Brooklyn Roadenbaugh made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-5.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Natalie Thoene, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Taylor Callison, who scored two runs while going 4-for-5.
Parma pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Marsing, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 7-5.
Both Parma and Marsing just can't seem to miss. The Panthers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Marsing struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Parma's way against Marsing in their previous matchup last Tuesday, as Parma made off with a 10-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
