Basketball Recap: Bolton Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Bolton faced off against Brighton on Tuesday. The Bolton Wildcats lost to the Brighton Cardinals at home by a 81-65 margin. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2019.

When it comes to explaining why Bolton lost, don't look at E'Darian Washington. Despite the final result, he went 12 for 20 on his way to 32 points and seven steals. Washington has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylan Collins, who posted five points in addition to nine assists and seven boards.

Brighton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Standard out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. Clinton Johnson was another key player, going 6 of 15 on his way to 16 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Bolton has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Brighton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Bolton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 97-79 victory against Raleigh-Egypt on the 11th. As for Brighton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-59 win against Dyer County on the 13th.
