The North Lenoir Hawks will head out to challenge the East Carteret Mariners at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Lenoir is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
North Lenoir is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over South Granville.

Carter Chadwick was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: North Lenoir kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Granville only managed five hits.
Meanwhile, East Carteret put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Nash Central a 5-0 shutout.
The result came thanks to Bryan Hadder's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jonathan Piner, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Luke Mcintosh was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
East Carteret pushed their record up to 25-0 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home. As for North Lenoir, their record now sits at 15-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. North Lenoir has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like East Carteret struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
North Lenoir might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from East Carteret in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
