Wallenpaupack Area hasn't had much luck against Valley View recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Buckhorns will face off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m.
Wallenpaupack Area is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Pittston on Friday. The Buckhorns and the Patriots were almost perfectly matched up, but the Buckhorns suffered a 14-13 loss.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jake Rafferty, who threw for 141 yards and one touchdown on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 33 yards. 85 of Rafferty's passing yards were hauled in by Mason Gonzalez, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Valley View). They claimed a resounding 52-21 victory over Wyoming Valley West. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cougars had established a 24-point advantage.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Valley View, racking up 16 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Gabe Davis, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Valley View's defense and their four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Brady Cunningham and Brody Call, who racked up all four sacks between them.
Valley View now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Wallenpaupack Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Wallenpaupack Area suffered a grim 34-13 defeat to Valley View when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Buckhorns avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
