The Winters Mill Falcons had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They managed a 47-42 win over South Carroll. That's another feather in the cap for Winters Mill, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Owen Case was his usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Sam Wivell was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Winters Mill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for South Carroll, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-7.
Winters Mill is on the road again on Monday and plays the Eagles on February 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Maryland (Centennial is ranked 108th, while the Falcons are ranked 117th). As for South Carroll, they will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Francis Scott Key has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28.
