Holy Spirit barely beat Lower Cape May the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans blew past the Tigers 10-4 on Monday. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six  runs or more this season.
 Brayden Birchler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and three unearned) runs on six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks any time he's  pitched this season.
 On the hitting side, Holy Spirit let  Brendan Mooney and  Gavin Cohen run wild. Mooney  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run, while  Cohen  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double. That's the most  hits  Cohen has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ty Costablie, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
Holy Spirit's victory was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 13-3. Those  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Lower Cape May,  they are  on  an  eight-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Holy Spirit will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
