After flying high against the Mater Brighton Lakes Academy Broncos last Friday, the Trinity Prep Saints came back down to earth. Trinity Prep was beaten by Celebration 55-25 on Wednesday. Trinity Prep lost against Celebration in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 62-26 score last time.
Celebration found their leader in underclassman Evelyn Juden , who scored 27 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Juden has scored at least 25% of Celebration's points. Another player making a difference was Valeria Martinez, who scored nine points along with six assists and five steals.
Trinity Prep's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Celebration, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Trinity Prep won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lake Highland Prep at 6:00 p.m. on January 4th. Lake Highland Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 matchups -- so hopefully Trinity Prep likes a good challenge. As for Celebration, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ocoee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ocoee is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
