Baseball Recap: Sanford Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Sanford won the last time they faced Trinidad and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Miners with a sharp 15-9 win. Considering the Mustangs have won three contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Sanford got a big performance out of Colton Reynolds, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4. Reynolds is becoming a predictor of the Mustangs' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of JD Faucette, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.

Reynolds wasn't the only one making solid contact: Sanford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

Sanford pushed their record up to 4-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Trinidad, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coincidentally, Sanford and Trinidad will both be playing South Park the next time they take the field. The Miners will host the Burros at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Mustangs will host them at 11:00 a.m. on the 26th.
