West Deptford has gone 8-1 against Gateway Regional recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Eagles will take on the Gators at 4:00 p.m. West Deptford will be strutting in after a victory while Gateway Regional will be coming in after a loss.
West Deptford took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Collingswood. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Landon Delaney and Josh Panetta were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Delaney tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Panetta didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Delaney went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Panetta went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. West Deptford is undefeated when Delaney posts two or more runs, but 0-3 otherwise.
In other batting news, Jason Hartman was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of West Deptford's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't).
West Deptford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Gateway Regional was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sterling. The Gators haven't had much luck with the Silver Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Gateway Regional saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Murray, who went 3-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple was Murray's first of the season. Another was Zach Brodsky, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
The win got West Deptford back to even at 3-3. As for Gateway Regional, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. West Deptford has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Gateway Regional struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
West Deptford beat Gateway Regional 8-5 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
