The Danville Ironmen will square off against the Selinsgrove Seals at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Danville's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matches.
If Danville beats Selinsgrove with 14 runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Everything went Danville's way against Shamokin Area on Tuesday as Danville made off with a 14-3 win. The Ironmen have beaten the Indians the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Indians has come to flipping the script.

Wyatt Shultz made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Shultz was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Kaleb Stetler looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in May of 2024.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Garrett Hoffman, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Daniel Walker was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Danville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shamokin Area only posted an OBP of .308.
Meanwhile, Selinsgrove fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Wyoming Valley West on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 4-3.
Griffin Parker was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Parker was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Declan Abrahims made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-5. Another player making a difference was Jayden Beaver, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Danville pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.6 runs this season. As for Selinsgrove, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Danville suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Selinsgrove when the teams last played back in May of 2022. Will Danville have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
