Grove Christian School has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Stuart Hall Dragons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Grove Christian School posted their biggest victory since November 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They blew past The New Community School, posting a 72-31 win at home. The win was just what Grove Christian School needed coming off of a 80-55 defeat in their prior match.
Jacob Garrison was his usual excellent self, scoring 33 points along with five assists and five steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Merrick Baron was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, even though Grove Christian School scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, Stuart Hall still came out on top. Everything went Stuart Hall's way against Grove Christian School as Stuart Hall made off with a 80-55 win. Given Stuart Hall's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Grove Christian School is ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grove Christian School's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Stuart Hall, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Grove Christian School might still be hurting after the 80-55 loss they got from Stuart Hall in their previous matchup on Friday. Can Grove Christian School avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
