There's no place like home for South Summit, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over the Ben Lomond Scots on Friday. Considering the Wildcats have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Toshlyn Louder made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mariah Bowen was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, eight RBI, and four runs. Those eight RBI gave her a new career-high. Malia Olson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
South Summit always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .821. They are 8-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
South Summit's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Ben Lomond, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-9.
