The Page Patriots will head out on the road to challenge the Independence Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Page is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Page blew Ravenwood out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Ravenwood got their revenge. The Patriots fell just short of the Raptors by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Patriots have suffered since May 7, 2024.

Adriana Callahan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of MacKenzie Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double.
Independence came out on top against Centennial on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Cougars 5-4. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Piper Johnson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Taylor Schmidt, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Independence hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 8-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Independence pushed their record up to 17-14 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Page, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Page hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Independence struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Page was able to grind out a solid victory over Independence in their previous matchup on April 1st, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
