The Morrison Wildcats will head out to take on the Perry Maroons at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Morrison has three straight wins, Perry has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
It was a proper cat-fight when Morrison took on Newkirk on Thursday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 20-14 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won three matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Boston Green was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Green was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Morrison got a massive performance out of Kaden Meador, who went 2-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that Meador has hit this season. Koltin Smith was another key player, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Morrison kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Tonkawa hit Perry with a eight-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Maroons came up short against the Buccaneers, falling 11-0. Maroons fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Buccaneers since Thursday.
Perry's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Morrison, their record is now 3-1.
Morrison might still be hurting after the 12-4 defeat they got from Perry in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
