After seven games on the road, Bayard is heading back home. They will welcome the Gering Bulldogs  on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Bayard is headed in fresh off scoring the most  runs they have all season. They blew past Gothenburg 18-6 on Thursday.
  Haley Edmunds was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing five innings while giving up just one earned  (and five unearned) runs off   four  hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances with a  double and  an  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Shayleigh West was a standout: she scored three  runs and  stole four bases while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave  her a new career-high in  hits. Another player making a difference was  Jenna Flores, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bayard  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .722. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
 Gering never got on the board in their matchup on Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Chadron last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Cardinals as they made off with  a  14-2 win.
 Bayard's victory bumped their record up to 5-7-1. As for Gering, their win  ended  a  five-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 6-7.
 Bayard might still be hurting after the  13-1 defeat they got from Gering  in their previous matchup  back in September of 2023. Can Bayard avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
