The Orlando Science Orcas lost against the Ridgeview Global Studies Academy Explorers last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Orlando Science was beaten by the Explorers 66-37. Orlando Science was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-14.
Several Orcas players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Myles Gipson, who scored ten points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Kenneth Reyes, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Leading Ridgeview Global Studies Academy to victory were Jacob English and Bryan Lopez. English scored 12 points, while Lopez scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Andre, who scored eight points.
Orlando Science has not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Ridgeview Global Studies Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orlando Science's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on February 1st. As for Ridgeview Global Studies Academy, they will challenge the Saints at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. All Saints' Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.7 points per game this season.
